The following is a summary of actions taken during the April 30th meeting of the board of trustees of the Harmony Independent School District:

•    The High School Students of the Month, Sara Jeanes and Matt Way, were recognized.
•    Debbie Cannon reported on the accomplishment of the UIL calculator team.
•    Mr. Whitaker recognized various student accomplishments including FFA, UIL, band and athletics.
•    Mr. Miller presented the superintendent’s report and the district financial report.
•    The board approved two budget amendments.
•    The board approved an additional payment for auditing services.
•    The board discussed bond refunding. No action was taken.
•    The board approved the criteria for allowing non-resident students in grandparents after-school care to attend tuition-free.
•    The board approved the purchase of additional band instruments.
•    The board accepted the resignation of Erin Bremmer, Sheila Brown, and Alicia Eiley.
•    The board named Jed Whitaker as the new superintendent.
