According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany McGlone, 19, of Winnsboro, was found murdered on May 4th at about 3:43 p.m.
A 911 call from 242 CR 4837 around Lake Winnsboro advised that there was an unresponsive female at the residence and it was believed she had been assaulted.
Deputies, upon arrival, determined that the woman had been murdered. Ms. McGlone had been the victim of an assault during which she received a massive trauma to the head.
The case is under investigation and there are suspects.
