Man and wife die in Hwy 14 accident May 27th

 An employee of the Wood County Courthouse and her husband died May 27th when the vehicle her husband was driving hydroplaned and was hit by another vehicle.

Tammy Joe Maricle of Quitman and her husband were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred on Highway 14 just north of Hawkins.
 

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that the SUV was heading south when it spun around before moving in front of a pickup driven by a Big Sandy resident.
 

The driver of the pickup, thirty-four year-old Patrick Jensen is in serious condition at a Tyler hospital.
 

Friends said the Maricle’s were en route to church. Wood County Judge Bryan Jeanes said Maricle had been with the county for eight years. She served as a criminal clerk in the county clerk’s office. Services were held May 31st at the Hubbard Chapel.
