On June
20th in
the
402nd
Judicial
District
Court of
Wood
County,
a case
against
Ted
Bryan
Coates,
33, of
Quitman,
was set
for jury
trial.
Following
jury
selection,
the
defendant
changed
his plea
and
Judge
Timothy
Boswell
found
him
guilty
of the
unauthorized
use of a
motor
vehicle.
Because
of his
significant
criminal
history,
Mr.
Coates
was
exposed
to
second
degree
felony
punishment.
At the
sentencing
on the
20th,
Judge
Boswell
sentenced
Coates
to 15
years
imprisonment,
a $1,000
fine and
repayment
of
restitution
to
Quitman
Ford.
This
case was
prepared
for
prosecution
by
Officer
Scott
Price of
the
Quitman
Police
department.
The
D.A.’s
office
credited
Price’s
“excellent
work”
which
led to
the
conviction.
