Body found in woods near Hawkins

At about 4:29 p.m. on November 19th, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a survey crew had found a deceased person in the woods north of PR 7850 in the Hawkins area. On arrival at the scene, the sheriff’s office confirmed this. The body has been sent to Southwest Forensics in Dallas for identification purposes and cause of death. At press time, the sheriff’s office could not release any further details, pending notification of next of kin.
