Woman and juvenile found dead near Quitman

On December 11th at about 9 a.m. Wood County deputies answered a 911 call at 1146 Hwy 37 which is just north of Quitman. The caller advised the deputies that there were two people who had been shot.

One, a female, was identified as Nicole Payne, 35. A juvenile male was also found. Identification of the male was pending notification.

Investigators and the Texas Rangers are investigating the shootings. No further details concerning the circumstances of these deaths were available at press time.
