Residents of the City of Hawkins can dispose of that rusty, broken glider or that old worn out mattress or that three legged chair or other such items on Saturday, July 12 at the parking lot of Hawkins City Hall from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.
Representatives of Allied Waste, the city's garbage contractor, will be on hand with dumpsters and other equipment to assist residents with the off-loading process.
Only residents of Hawkins are eligible for the service. Therefore, residents wishing to dispose of large items must bring a copy of their utilities bill with them.
There are some limitations of note: No refrigerators. No paint cans (with liquid paint). No computers. No brush or vegetation. No used wood/construction materials. No tires.
