NY Times Blasts Obama's Bill
Columnist, criticizes President for nearly 9,000 ear marks

I t makes news when the New York Times says anything against President Obama. Well, it happened last week when Dowd's column ran in the Times and in papers across the country. It appeared locally in Thursday's Dallas Morning News and we reprinted it for you on page 2 of this issue.
Dowd uses phrases such as, "given how angry Americans are, watching their future go up in smoke" to bash the bloated $450 billion spending bill.
Her column and recent events in the U.S. economy are analized in Wilson Crabtree's editorial, also apperaing on page 2. All of this ties in with our last issue which carried news of Obama's Drone Hellfire missle attacks on al-Qaeda fighters across the Afghanistan border in Pakistan.
After reading Dowd's column in the DMN last Thursday, I overheard someone say that perhaps Obama is "using up his political chips" rather quickly. There is also a solution offered in the editorial. W.C.
