Meeting in regular session, Monday, June 15, the Hawkins City Council named Dan Kirk as a Hawkins representative on the board of directors for the Wood County Industrial Commission. The council also approved a budget amendment for the Hawkins Community Development Commission to fund construction of a concession stand at the Youth Sports Park.
In addition the council again approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Big Sandy for mosquito spraying services in Hawkins residential areas. Hawkins is paying $15.00 per hour and the cost of the chemicals plus 10 percent to cover equipment.
The council also approved a proclamation honoring Marie Kervin.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Hawkins City Council is scheduled for Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m. A special meeting of the council can be called with 72 hours public notice.
