Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a wanted fugitive.
When you call 903-763-CASH, your information is confidential and you may remain anonymous. On giving your information, you will be assigned a special number reference for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You DO NOT need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

August 5th: Deputies responded to a structure fire on FM 515 in Winnsboro. The complainant advised that he received a knock on his door around 2 a.m. and was informed that his home was on fire and fully involved. The home was valued at $70,000 and was insured. The complainant's son lived in the residence and no one had been at home since Sunday night. The cause of the fire is unknown.
August 4th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2153 in Quitman with regard to a report of some having been stolen. The complainant advised that a suspect had been stealing her mail from her mailbox. The case has been forwarded to the U.S. Postal Inspector's Office.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to FM 515 in Winnsboro with regard to a theft of several prescription medications. The complainant advised that she caught a suspect breaking into her residence. The case is under investigation.
August 3rd: Deputies were dispatched to the point area at Lake Hawkins on a report that someone was cursing and yelling from the lake. The complainant advised that the person in the lake had been drinking and was extremely intoxicated. Deputies requested that the person come out of the lake for her safety. The suspect began cursing and using obscenities at the deputies. She refused to get out of the water voluntarily. Deputies got in the water to get the suspect to shore but she resisted. The deputies were able to secure the suspect with handcuffs and they began to remove her from the water. She remained combative and began to spit on the deputies. Yvonne Bizzell Budny was arrested for assault on a public servant.
August 1st: Deputies were dispatched to FM 514 in Yantis. A complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had removed over $3,500 in fishing rods and reels from his boat's storage box. There was no forced entry into the storage box. The boat was parked at the complainant's residence. The case is under investigation.
July 31st: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 80 east in Mineola with regard to a report of criminal trespassing. On arrival, the complainant advised that a suspect had pulled into his mother's driveway. The complainant advised that she did not want the suspect back on her property. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning to Stacy Sasser. This case is closed.
July 30th: Deputies were dispatched to FM 69 in Quitman. A complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had removed produce from a stand that she had set up on the honor system. The complainant advised that over $80 worth of fruits and vegetables were stolen. The case is under investigation.
July 29th: Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 south with regard to a criminal trespass report. The complainant advised that a suspect came onto her property with regard to a pitbull dog that her family owned. The complainant advised that she did not want the suspect on her property. Charles Fredrick Scott was issued a criminal trespass warning.

During the period, there were 83 males at the Wood County Jail and 15 females for an overall total of 98. There were 50 bookings and 40 releases.
July 28th: Deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to a report of a scam. The complainant advised that he was scammed when trying to sell his pool table over the internet. He advised that he received a check for over $2,700 but was selling the pool table for just $1,476.The complainant was advised to cash the check and send half the money to an address in Colorado. The complainant advised that he had received the check from an address in Brooklyn, New York. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to a structure fire on FM 14 north in Quitman at approximately 7:05 a.m. On arrival, they found the home completely engulfed in flames. The owner, Andy Lindley, advised that lightning had struck his house and caused the fire. There were no injuries to the occupants of the home. Lindley advised that he grabbed his wife and children and left the residence. The home was uninsured. Deputies noticed where lightning had struck a tree on the north side of the home.
July 26th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2260 in Mineola with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had attempted to break into her home. She advised that the suspect(s) had tried to pry open a door. The case is under investigation.
The deputies were dispatched to CR 4700 in Winnsboro with regard to a report of a terroristic threat. He advised that his ex-wife and her husband had threatened to beat him up. He said he had called his ex-wife to speak with her about an issue with some property and that was when he was threatened. He said he did not want to pursue charges. He just wanted the incident to be documented.
Also on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 2177 in Quitman with regard to an assault. The complainant advised that her daughter has assaulted her after several requests that her daughter turn the music down because the complainant was trying to sleep. The complainant went into the room where her daughter was listening to the music. She turned the music off and that is when the suspect became angry and jumped on her mother's back while grabbing her arms away from the music. Ruby Dee Nagle was arrested July 27th for injury to the elderly with the intention of bodily injury. The injury bond was set as $10,000.
Finally, on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 4790 in Winnsboro with regard to a theft of livestock. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen two calves from his pasture. He also advised that he had walked his fence and did not find any holes. The case is under investigation.
July 24th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2920 in Golden with regard to a dog bite. The complainant advised that he was taking his morning walk and was bitten on his lower left leg by his neighbor's dog. He said he would not be seeking medical care. The owner of the dog was contacted and she was advised that the dog would need to be quarantined at a veterinarian's office for 10 days and she complied
July 23rd: Deputies were dispatched to CR 3540 in Hawkins with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that she was in the process of moving out of the residence and working on getting the rest of her belongings out. She advised that she entered the residence to retrieve her property. She noticed that her property had been moved around and several items were missing. The rear door of the residence had been kicked in. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff's department with regard to an unknown suspect(s) dumping trash on his property on CR 4560 in Winnsboro. He advised that he located several documents with a possible suspect's name on the papers. The case is under further investigation.
Also on this date, deputies were dispatched to Comanche at Holiday Village in Quitman with regard to a report of criminal trespass. The complainant informed the deputies that his daughter-in-law came to his home and started an argument with his son. He said he did not want to file charges but wanted a criminal trespass warning issued. Kelly Garner was issued a criminal trespass warning. This case is closed.
Finally on this date, deputies were dispatched to Kickapoo at Holiday Village in Quitman with regard to a criminal trespass report. The complainant advised that a suspect kept riding his four-wheeler across her daughter's property. Jimmy Heimann was issued a criminal trespass warning. The case is closed.
