Daniel Beggs 2nd place in History Essay Award
The Charles G. Davenport Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas recently announced the winners of their 7th grade History Essay Contest. Daniel Beggs, of Hawkins, won second place with his winning essay, Rip Ford, a Passionate Texan. Daniel was recoginized by the DRT in an awards ceremony where he was presented a $75 savings bond. Daniel is home schooled by his parents, Gina to left and Bill, not shown, owner of Woodland Realty. Gina, with Bill's help, provided the photo. W.C.
