Wood County Commissioners Court

Meeting in regular session Friday, June 11, Wood County Commissioners dispatched 15 routine items in near record time. The court approved acceptance of a grant award to effect energy efficiency and conservation in the amount of $86,000.
The grant through the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be used to replace a number of aged and inefficient air conditioning units at several county facilities. The court also approved a companion agenda item to advertise for bids on the equipment. Bids will be due and opened July 8 with the award approval anticipated for July 9.
In other action the court approved:
- a two-week County payroll of $300,351.97.
- claims and payments totaling $381,171.95.
- employee and family health care claims of $93,046.95.
- submitted budget of the Wood County Appraisal District for FY 2010 of $1,018,275.00.
- constable activity reports for all four precincts.
- right of entry permit for Lee Cemetery for road repair work.
- interlocal agreement with City of Yantis for summer mowing.
- interlocal agreement with City of Mineola for street repairs.
- interlocal agreement between WCSO and Texas Department of Public Safety for purchase of supplies.
Personnel actions include:
- Kayla Beth Hirsch, new hire, deputy district clerk, District Clerk's Office, $9.00/hour.
- Larry D. Berry, Lee A. Clark and Leon Jimmie Musick, temporary seasonal workers, Pct-3 R&B, $9.00/hour.
- Gerald Glenn Burnett, new hire, temporary seasonal worker, Pct-4 R&B, $9.00/hour.
The next regular meeting of the Wood County Commissioners Court will be Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10 a.m. A special meeting of the court can be called with 72-hour public notice.
