Fishing gear valued at a total of $57,600 has been stolen in the Lake Fork area.
On July 9th, Deputy Jimmy White was dispatched to the 600 block of CR 1858 in the Yantis area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen his props, motor and all his fishing equipment from his boat. The items had a value of $17,000. On July 10th, Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 5200 block of FM 17 north. Several victims advised him that unknown suspect(s) had stolen $31,200 worth of fishing equipment from their boats.
On the same date, Deputy Rusty Owens was dispatched to the 500 block of FM 17 north on a report of yet again theft of fishing gear. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen over $9,400 worth of fishing rods and reels.
All these cases are under investigation.
