Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, your information to Crime Stoppers is confidential and you can remain anonymous.
When you give your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do NOT need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

August 17th: Deputy Rusty Owens spoke with a victim by public service who advised that her husband had violated a protective order by calling her on the phone. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy David Hill was dispatched to the 4600 block of Hwy 154 in the Yantis area with regard to an intoxicated subject. Ricky Dell Kilgore Jr. was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
Also on this date, Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 2700 block of Hwy 154 east in the Quitman area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had come into her home while she was asleep and had taken her billfold. The case is under investigation.
August 16th: Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the 100 block of CR 3588 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that an unknown suspect(s) had stolen his tiller, pole saw, weed eater and several gas cans. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to the 5600 block of FM 2869 south in the Hawkins area with regard to a structure fire. The victim advised that she was burning trash in a barrel and went inside. When she returned, her storage building was on fire. The fire was ruled accidental due to the unsupervised outdoor burning.
Also on this date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 200 block CR 4470 in the Winnsboro area with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked residence and had stolen three rings and a vacuum cleaner. The items are valued at $730. The case is under investigation.
August 15th: Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 4579 in the Winnsboro area with regard to an assault. The victim advised that her brother knocked her out of a chair causing her to hurt her left side. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 1559 in the Alba area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered her locked residence and had stolen several pieces of jewelry valued at over $1,000. The case is under investigation.
August 14th: Deputy Adams made a traffic stop on CR 1676 on a vehicle that was pulling a trailer without taillights. When contact with the driver was made, the driver advised that his license was suspended and he had received a citation a few days earlier for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle's passenger was checked. This showed a warrant out of Smith County for theft of property over $1,500 and under $20,000. The driver, Larry Jackson, was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license with previous convictions. The passenger, Jimmy Melton, was arrested for theft of property out of Smith County.
August 13th: Deputy Robbie Ballard was dispatched to the 1600 block of CR 2336 in the Mineola area. The victim advised that suspect(s) had stolen two gold necklaces, two flat silver necklaces, a diamond pendant, a gold pendent, a diamond double heart pendent and a diamond flower-shaped pendent. The victim advised that her residence was locked. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Ballard was dispatched to the 300 block of PR 6665 in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had pried the clasp off her storage building. The suspect(s) stole a black ranch trailer, two chain saws, a pole trimmer, a ladder, a rake, clippers, pruners, and pesticide spray bottles. The case is under investigation.
August 12th: Deputy Chris Bettis was dispatched to the 3900 block of CR 3880 in the Mineola area. The victim advised that a suspect had entered her residence through an unlocked window and had stolen a Play Station 2, several prescription medications, 25 Play Station games, a .22 caliber long rifle with scope and a green duffle bag. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Jimmy White was in routine patrol when he noticed a vehicle with no rear lights. When he made contact with the driver, the driver advised that he did not have a valid driver's license. On checking the subject for weapons, drug paraphernalia was found on the subject's person. Steven Wayne Rogers was placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.

August 11th: Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 8853 in the Winnsboro area with regard to the theft of a red Craftsman lawnmower. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy J.W. Williams made a traffic stop on a dark colored SUV on CR 3920 in the Hawkins area. On making contact with the three occupants, it was found that one subject was wanted out of Smith County. Both back seat passengers were placed under arrest. Janette Nichole Waldon was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Travis Tague was placed under arrest for an outstanding Smith County warrant for possession of a dangerous drug. Bond was set at $50,000.
August 10th: Deputy Chris Turner met a victim in the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to an assault by threat. The victim advised that his ex-wife had threatened him over the phone. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Williams was on routine patrol on FM 14 north. When he attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle slowed down but refused to stop and sped up. The driver pulled into a driveway and jumped out. A white male jumped out and ran into the woods. The driver's two passengers identified him. Shortly after, the subject yelled that he was coming out of the woods. David Lee Pruitt was placed under arrest for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.
August 9th: Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 2900 block of FM 2088 with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had pried open the side door of his residence. The suspect(s) stole two mattresses, two television sets, a cable box and a DVD player. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to the 4200 block of FM 17 with regard to a burglary of a vehicle. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen her golf bag. It contained her golf clubs, cash, gloves, golf balls, and Sky Caddy GPS. The case is under investigation.
August 7th: Sgt. Jayson Farmer was dispatched to an assault in progress in the 6000 block of Hwy 154 in the Yantis area. On arrival, the victim advised that the suspect, his son, had struck him on the head causing him to fall and cut his hand on some gravel. Chaisen Chamness was placed under arrest for assault by contact.
On the same date, Deputy Bettis was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2176 with regard to a theft. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen three sheets of wood grain paneling, three cases of foam seal tiles, three rolls of R-12 insulation and four sheets of plywood. All of the material stolen was installed on the walls and attached to the ceiling joist. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Adams was dispatched to CR 1835 in the Yantis area on a burglary report. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered his locked barn and removed a Skil chain saw, a Husqvarna chain saw, a pad lock, fuel cans, tractor oil, post hole diggers and a pitch fork. The case is under investigation.
August 6th: Deputy Sam Threadgill was dispatched to the 1100 block of Hwy 80 east in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that jewelry valued at over $4,000 was taken. Items included a cluster pearl necklace, a teardrop pear-shaped necklace with matching earrings, a diamond ring set, and a pearl cluster necklace. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputy Hill was dispatched to the lobby of the sheriff's office with regard to an assault. The victim advised that she was assaulted by her ex-husband while trying to exchange their children. The case is under investigation.
Also on this date, Deputy Chris Turner was dispatched to the 7500 block of Hwy 69 north in the Alba area. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) had pried her sliding back door open and had entered her residence. Suspect(s) had stolen tackle boxes with tackle, three fishing poles, a pink IPod, a Toshiba laptop computer and a Hewlett Packard desktop computer, The items are valued at $2,700. The case is under investigation.
Finally, on this date, Deputy Threadgill was dispatched to the 2200 block of FM 14 south in the Mineola area with regard to a burglary. The victim advised that unknown suspect(s) gad stolen a Vizio 19-inch flat screen television, a 42-inch Sanyo flat screen set, a mother's ring, a wedding band, a tennis bracelet, a set of diamond earrings and a Kodak Easy Share camera. The items are valued at $4,800. The case is under investigation.
August 5th: Deputy Threagill was dispatched to the 900 block of CR 3689 in the Hawkins area with regard to a criminal mischief report. The victim advised that unknown person(s) had damaged the two rear tires of his Ford tractor. The tires are valued at $1,000. The case is under investigation.
