The superintendents of both local school districts were given contract extensions and salary increases following a review of their performance with each respective school board.
The contract of Hawkins Superintendent Dan Rose was extended to July 2012 by the Hawkins Independent School Board of Trustees at a special meeting, Monday January 19. Rose, who has served as Superintendent since January 2004 also received a raise, bringing his salary to $97,000.
Superintendent Jed Whitaker of Harmony Independent School District also received a contract extension until July 2012 by the Board of Trustees along with a salary increase of $7,500 to $92,000. Whitaker has served as Superintendent since July 2007. The action was taken at a regular meeting of the Harmony ISD Trustees Monday, January 19.
