Wood County Sheriff's report
Wood County Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of a fugitive in a case. When you call 903-763-CASH, information you give remains confidential and you can remain anonymous.
On giving your information, you will be assigned a special reference number for your call. You can use this number at a later date to claim a reward if your information leads to an arrest. You do not need to give your name.
Crime Stoppers may pay a reward up to $1,000 for information on any warrant that leads to an arrest and indictment.

Criminal investigation reports: In March, investigators worked a burglary of a motor vehicle in which a GPS system was stolen. Recently, they recovered the stolen GPS. In April, investigators worked a home burglary in Winnsboro in which a Dell laptop was taken. They recovered the laptop recently in Longview.
In June, investigators received a case involving the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and the burglary of a home. Upon investigation, Bill Charles Neal was arrested on July 14th for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and burglary of a habitation.
Also in June, investigators received a case of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. On investigation, a warrant was issued for Cody McDonald. On July 6th, McDonald was arrested in Hawkins. On July 5th, investigators received a case in which an ATV was stolen from a residence in Alba. On investigation, the ATV was recovered in Smith County in the Enchanted Lakes area.
For several weeks, investigators have been working and investigating an ongoing drug activity in which 19.8 grams of heroin were recovered in the Quitman area. No further information is being released at this time.
July 21st: Deputies received a phone call from a complainant from his Grand Prairie residence. He advised deputies that he had been fishing on Lake Fork. When he returned to load his boat, he noticed that his license plate was missing from his boat trailer. The case is under investigation.
July 20th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 3265 in Hainesville with regard to an animal bite. On arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant and she advised that she had been feeding and caring for a stray cat. She advised that she reached down to pet the cat and the cat bit her on the right hand. She advised that she did not need medical care because she had recently received a tetanus shot. She received one small puncture on the top of her right hand. She advised that the cat was not acting aggressive when she reached down to pet it. The cat is in quarantine for 10 days at an animal clinic for observation.
July 19th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2958 in Alba with regard to unknown suspect(s) damaging the complainant's mailbox. The complainant advised that his mailbox had peanut butter smeared all over it.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to FM 515 with regard to fishing equipment being stolen from his boat at Scenic 515 cabins in Yantis. The rods and reels were on the floor of the boat in plain sight. The case is under investigation.
July 17th: Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 37 south to Hilltop Seafood where a complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had stolen his weed eater. The case is under investigation.
July 15th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2270 in Mineola with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had smashed his mailbox. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to an address in Winnsboro with regard to an assault that had occurred at Lake Winnsboro. The complainant advised that he was assaulted by his girlfriend. The complainant advised that his girlfriend accused him of cheating with a classmate that they saw while at Lake Winnsboro. The case is under investigation.

During the period, there were 70 males and 12 females at the Wood County Jail for a total of 82. There were 36 bookings and 41 releases.
July 14th: Animal Control was dispatched to CR 2330 in Mineola with regard to dogs running at large. A complainant advised that her grandson was outside playing when two dogs came up to him growling. Animal Control contacted the owner of the dogs who advised that he would put the dogs in a contained area.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched to PR 555 in Alba with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered by breaking the back door open to gain entry then removed several cartons of cigarettes and cash from the cash register. The investigation continues.
July 13th: Deputies were dispatched to the 4700 block of Hwy 37 north in Winnsboro with regard to a burglary. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had entered the building and removed a small safe that contained cash and several credit cards. There was no forced entry to the building. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, deputies were dispatched at 10:15 p.m. to FM 515 east in Yantis with regard to a terroristic threat. The complainant advised that he and a couple of friends were fishing about 25 yards from the bank when a vehicle pulled up. A man exited the vehicle and began threatening to shoot the complainant and his friends. Arlen Lee Harris was arrested for terroristic threats.
July 12th: Deputies were dispatched to CR 2174 in Quitman with regard to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The complainant advised that he allowed his brother to use his vehicle. He advised that his brother and his girlfriend had broken up and when the girlfriend moved out of the home, she took the complainant's 1996 Dodge Intrepid with here. The case is under investigation.
On the same date, Deputies were dispatched to CR 2167 in Quitman with regard to a report of criminal trespass. Ray Gover was issued a criminal trespass warning to stay off the complainant's property.
Also on this date, deputies were dispatched to CR 2724 with regard to a terroristic threat. The complainant advised that her husband had threatened to kill her. She advised that the threat came after she and the suspect began talking about child custody issues.
July 11th: Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 in Quitman with regard to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised that unknown suspect(s) had pulled the handle of the complainant's front storm door off. The handle was left lying on the front porch The complainant's neighbor had their mailbox knocked down on the same night.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 in Hawkins with regard to a report of criminal mischief. The complainant advised that a person driving a black Hummer had driven through the complainant's camp site and destroyed a tent. Deputies observed the black Hummer leaving a camp site and they initiated a traffic stop. On making contact with the driver, the driver exited the vehicle and immediately had to grab onto something to keep from falling. The female was placed in the deputies' patrol car due to intoxication. Once in the patrol car, the female began kicking the safety cage and the windows and using profanity. Angela Renee Stringer was arrested for driving while intoxicated and criminal mischief.
July 10th: Deputies were dispatched to a gas drive-off in Yantis on Hwy 154 and FM 515. A complainant advised that a large cargo truck drove off without paying for fuel. She also advised that she went in pursuit of the truck and the driver gave the owner a credit card for the fuel purchase. The owner went back to her business to run the credit card for the amount due for the fuel purchase which was $111.00. The card was denied. The case is under investigation.
